An internship agreement sets the terms of a practical training period in a company, from student placements to public integration schemes such as Tunisia's CIVP (contrat d'initiation à la vie professionnelle). This template covers the CIVP and its equivalents elsewhere: the French convention de stage, Morocco's Idmaj integration contract, Saudi Tamheer, the Italian tirocinio and apprenticeship contracts.
What every template should include before you sign.
Identity of the host company, the intern and, where relevant, the school or public employment agency; nature of the arrangement: study internship, CIVP, integration contract or apprenticeship.
Target skills and assigned tasks, linked to the intern's studies or career plan, and distinct from a permanent position in the company.
Start and end dates, weekly attendance and hours, within the maximum duration of the scheme and its renewal conditions.
Appointment of a tutor in the company and a contact at the school or agency, and how the intern is assessed.
Amount, who pays it (company, State or both), payment frequency and any benefits such as transport or meals.
Cover for accidents during the internship, civil liability, and health and safety rules applicable to the intern.
Discretion over company information and ownership of work, reports or creations produced during the internship.
Grounds for early termination, notice period, end-of-internship certificate and effects of any hiring after the internship.
